My passion for photography has groan and I'm thinking of taking it one step further. After working with strobes (flash guns) I got me one of these to work in my studio. I must say that this studio flash is a nice addition to my collection.

The  (SS-200d Ws ) is an excellent start in the world of studio photography. The lightweight, compact flash unit have a built-in slave sensor and a 50W halogen modeling lamp. The power is step less adjustable for just the right amount of light.

They always come in handy, even when you expand to a huge studio. They are excellent as a hair light, rim light or background lighting!

The sj1000 the great china action cam.

This is really super camera. It shoots really good videos & reasonably good photos.
I have heard alot of people complain  about how bad the build quality the camera is and this is same what true, you do get what you pay for.But I don't find it bad not at all, the only thing that did not work with me when I got it was the charger.
But that was no problem, I have a few mobile charges laying around. As long as the charger is 1mAmp then you can use it, even the connector is the same as my samsung galaxy s phone.
The camera also has a problem in shooting in 720p at 60fps, it actually 2 times the same frame. For me it's not a problem as I never shoot in 720p.
I have been using this camera for a while now and never had a problem. It's even been in the water playing with my young son, water never got in the water tight housing.
It's small, light and the battery with me lasts about 90 min shooting video at 1080p/30fps. So you get what you pay for,  at 60 euros it's more camera then a 200 or even a 300 euro camera.
Anyway that was just my 2 cents.

The SJ1000 action cam.

So I Just got my new SJ1000 action cam from china, and I must say that I was surprised by the video quality of this camera.This camera came with a lot of accessories and an 8GB memory card. Just see the photos. I will be posting some tests of video & photo quality soon. So keep watching out for for the updates for my blog.

My First time Lapse video.

Hi all this is my first post and hopefully will be many more to come.
In this short post I will show you my first time lapse video that I made using my old canon 350d.
I shot about 300 photos every 5minutes then used apple's quicktime pro to assamble all the photos at 24FPS. Then imported into sony vegas, put some music and that was it.

Chilean Quake May Have Shortened Earth Days

The Feb. 27 magnitude 8.8 earthquake in Chile may have shortened the length of each Earth day.

JPL research scientist Richard Gross computed how Earth's rotation should have changed as a result of the Feb. 27 quake. Using a complex model, he and fellow scientists came up with a preliminary calculation that the quake should have shortened the length of an Earth day by about 1.26 microseconds (a microsecond is one millionth of a second).

Perhaps more impressive is how much the quake shifted Earth's axis. Gross calculates the quake should have moved Earth's figure axis (the axis about which Earth's mass is balanced) by 2.7 milliarcseconds (about 8 centimeters, or 3 inches). Earth’s figure axis is not the same as its north-south axis; they are offset by about 10 meters (about 33 feet).

By comparison, Gross said the same model estimated the 2004 magnitude 9.1 Sumatran earthquake should have shortened the length of day by 6.8 microseconds and shifted Earth's axis by 2.32 milliarcseconds (about 7 centimeters, or 2.76 inches).

Gross said that even though the Chilean earthquake is much smaller than the Sumatran quake, it is predicted to have changed the position of the figure axis by a bit more for two reasons. First, unlike the 2004 Sumatran earthquake, which was located near the equator, the 2010 Chilean earthquake was located in Earth's mid-latitudes, which makes it more effective in shifting Earth's figure axis. Second, the fault responsible for the 2010 Chiliean earthquake dips into Earth at a slightly steeper angle than does the fault responsible for the 2004 Sumatran earthquake. This makes the Chile fault more effective in moving Earth's mass vertically and hence more effective in shifting Earth's figure axis.

Gross said the Chile predictions will likely change as data on the quake are further refined.
